Cold chisels and bolsters may be used with a lump hammer or mallet to break up hard materials by hand, such as stone and brick or to cut metal. The strong bevelled edge of the blade will cut through the workpiece with ease. They are available in a range of widths – narrow, for chasing channels to large flat chisels which may be used to split large brick or blocks.
